4 Reasons to Choose SMES School Mahim

“Wisdom...comes not from age, but from education and learning.” These are wise words from Anton Chekhov, ironically, I have learned with age and realized the importance of schooling that instils progressive education among children through seminars on parenting that my better half made me attend. As working parents in Mahim, we were looking for a CBSE school for our daughter with best facilities that would focus on all-round development. Some of the facilities we required compulsorily were proximity from our residence, pick and drop facility but more importantly an environment that would aid holistic growth of our child.
After some research and recommendations we learned about SMES School Mahim among a few others. So, we decided to check upon it and see the facilities that each had to offer. A particular reason why I stress upon SMES School Mahim is that it impressed me more than any other. And the reason why i was so impressed was one in particular, which i will discuss along with other reasons why I chose this school over others.
Plethora of Co-curricular Activities
The school believes in “Learning by doing”. It hosts various activities that encourage freedom of thought and logical reasoning, performing arts, artistic expression and vocabulary enrichment, physical education among many more such activities for an all-round development of any child.
The SMES School App
As I mentioned earlier, this is one of the reasons that really impressed me. The school has a mobile app which would inform the parents via text message that their child has reached the school safely. I believe this feature should be implemented by all schools as safety during transit to school is one of the most important factor that worries the parents. Apart from attendance record, we parents can also keep a track of time-table, homework and results via the same app. This innovative idea already had my wife rooting for SMES School Mahim.
A/V Smart Classes
Most of the classes were equipped with A/V setup with e-learning content which not only makes learning interactive but also fun. We took our daughter along to see the school and as soon as she saw the A/V projector, she went like “Papa! Itna bada TV class me hai.” with surprise and awe.
The Laboratories
Next, we were shown different laboratories. I had already known that different science labs and a computer lab is a staple in all schools. But I had for the first time heard of an English lab. It helps children develop proficiency in English. This well-equipped language laboratory was established in the year 2011.



Now, it has been over a year since I admitted my little girl in this school and she has already taken up interest in Karate and is involved in lots of cultural dance events. But the best part is that she cries if she has to miss school even for a day for some reason, whereas most kids cry as they don't want to go to school. Therefore SMES School Mahim is one of the fastest growing CBSE schools in Mumbai and I am proud to let my little angel to be a part of it.
