Research says that learning is not one-size-fits-all. In a typical classroom, there are some students who learn best by hearing the teacher explaining them, there are some who learn by seeing what’s on the chalkboard, whereas there are few who learn through hands-on exercises.
Educators have found out that there are three basic learning styles which include visual, auditory and kinesthetic style. Normally, such learners prefer having a background music while studying or require a quiet place to avoid distraction.
Kinesthetic learners are the ones who are able to understand information better either by jotting it down or by doing hands-on activities. They are not comfortable sitting still while studying. Then, we have the Visual learners who are capable of processing the new information by reading, looking at visuals, or seeing a demonstration. Kids with this learning style can grasp knowledge presented in a chart or graph.

Parents and teachers need to observe their kids and understand which style they favour. This will result in improving the academic performance of the child.
