Celebrating an Environment-Friendly Diwali
With Diwali just around the corner, we all have got super busy in the preparations. As the school’s Diwali vacation begins, some of the best CBSE Schools in Mumbai have taken initiative in encouraging their students in celebrating Diwali in an eco-friendly way. Along with providing smart classroom and modern education, SMES CBSE School in Mahim also supports this initiative of having a safe and green Diwali.
For us, Diwali celebration is all about crackers, gifts, sweets, lights, noise, and decoration. Over the past few years, this auspicious day has turned out to be stressful for both human and animals. Have you ever imagined what impact these celebrations have on our environment and nature around? Diwali is one of the biggest festivals in India that is celebrated worldwide with great joy and enthusiasm. But what we often forget is the harmful effect that it has on our surroundings due to our unawareness and ignorance.
People find joy and happiness in bursting crackers which leads to air pollution. It can have a severe impact on people suffering from breathing problems. Another major issue that rises during this celebration is noise pollution. Since the bursting fireworks lead to a lot of noise which can be harmful not only for humans but also for animals and birds. Those innocent lives suffer helplessly. These poisonous crackers are dangerous for our kids too.
This year, let us all make Diwali more nature-friendly. Instead of using Chinese lights for your decorations which consume so many energy and which are heavy on pockets, opt for earthen lamps that will certainly add more beauty to your home.We should use organic and eco-friendly colors for our Rangolis. This Diwali, please don't chase or terrorize animals or pets because they cannot speak but it surely affects them to the core. Let us all try to make this Diwali noise-free, pollution-free and eco-friendly one.
